Dry Needling
in Coral Gables

Trigger point dry needling performed by a certified Doctor of Physical Therapy, built into a complete, hands-on physical therapy plan.

RX MOVEMENT · Coral Gables

Release the tension.
Restore the movement.

Dry needling uses a very thin, sterile filament needle to target trigger points and tight, irritable areas of muscle. The goal is to reduce pain, calm protective muscle guarding, and give you a window to move better, which is when the real progress happens.

At RX MOVEMENT, dry needling is never a stand-alone shortcut. It is one tool inside your physical therapy plan, combined with manual therapy and targeted exercise so the change you feel on the table carries into your training, your workday, and your life.

Dry needling is performed by Gabriel Pardo, PT, DPT, CSCS, a licensed physical therapist with advanced dry needling certification, at our clinic at 370 Minorca Ave in Coral Gables.

Common Questions

Dry Needling FAQs

Does dry needling hurt?+

Most patients feel a brief ache, pressure, or a quick muscle twitch rather than sharp pain. Mild soreness for a day or two afterward is common and usually resolves on its own.

Is dry needling the same as acupuncture?+

No. Both use thin needles, but dry needling is based on a musculoskeletal and movement assessment and targets specific muscles and trigger points as part of a physical therapy plan.

Is dry needling covered by insurance?+

Coverage varies by plan and many plans do not cover it. At RX MOVEMENT, dry needling is offered as an add-on to a physical therapy visit, and we will tell you your exact cost before treatment.

How many sessions will I need?+

It depends on your condition and goals. Some patients notice a change after the first session; most receive dry needling as part of a broader plan over several visits. We will give you an honest estimate after your evaluation.
